Award Given to Bayburt University from Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK)

Bayburt University was awarded with "Orange Flag" in the category of "Accessibility in the Region Awards for 2020" within the scope of the "Accessible University Awards" given annually by Turkish Council of Higher Education.

 

For the 2020 awards, with a record number of applications, a total of 841 from 116 universities, made to the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the "Accessible Universities Award Ceremony for the Year 2020"  was realized by video conference method and the winners announced with the participation of Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk and President of the Council of the Higher Education Prof. Dr.  M. A. Yekta Saraç.

 

In the scope of the "Accessible University Awards" given annually from 2018 and the studies initiated by the Council of Higher Education with the themes of "Barrier-Free Access and Barrier-Free Education" in order to encourage the creation of a barrier-free ecosystem in universities, to raise awareness about the access of disabled individuals to places, educational opportunities and socio-cultural activities and to spread good practices, Bayburt University was awarded with the 'Orange Flag' in the category of 'Accessibility in Region Awards for the Year 2020' due to its studies on the disabled individuals.

 

Expressing his happiness for the award they won, Bayburt University Rector Prof. Dr. Selcuk Coşkun thanked everyone who contributed, especially to President of Turkish Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. M.A. Yekta Saraç. Rector Coşkun noticed that they always stand by with the disabled individuals in order to lead them to be more active in social life as well as in business and education life. He emphasized that as Bayburt University, they always listen to the problems of disabled staff and try to find solutions.Adding that they will continue to be their active supporter, Rector Coşkun added that by building accessible places in all service areas of the university, they ensure that disabled individuls can easily benefit from all the facilities, social areas, open and closed spaces at the university and that they will continue to implement all necessary arrangements from now on.
